NYFW Recap Part II

NYFW Day 4: The Carolina Herrera Fashion Show! After a long Sunday it was hard to get on my feet (literally I couldn’t walk) so I only planned to attend the CH fashion show at the Museum of Modern Arts (MOMA). To be honest I was going to pick something classic like “a little black dress” but I wasn’t feeling it. So metallic it was! I wore a metallic skirt that I made myself. The story behind this skirt is that I fell in love with the fabric and then decided one night to sew a skirt out of it. That’s it. Sometimes if you can’t find the perfect item to your perfect outfit, you just have to make it! I paired my skirt with a Zara nude long sleeve top, black blazer, black shoes and a metallic bag from Zara. My hair was slick back with natural looking make-up. My only jewelry was a black velvet cocktail ring from H&M. The fashion show was breathtaking; the colors, silhouettes, designs – absolutely everything was amazing. It was so much fun being able to sit and watch these CH creations for the SS18 collections. That night was epic – I even sat a few seats from Linda Fargo and Jacey Duprie (one of my favorite bloggers). Also, I saw many big celebrities and icons in the fashion industry attending the event. This was definitely the biggest show I have ever attended. A night to remember for sure.

NYFW Day 5: Meeting with Alba Riquelme (Paraguayan model and blogger) to attend the backstage for the Naeem Khan Fashion Show. It was fun experience to see all the models getting ready, all the time spent working hard to put everything together, and most importantly the sneak peak of the unreal Naeem Khan SS18 collection. The show was unbelievable and exotic. The models were wearing flower crowns and ornate nose and ear piercings. The Naeem Khan looks were so elegant and sexy at the same time: corsets and nightwear as gowns with cold shoulders, kimono and fringe. It was my favorite show for sure. It was another pink moment for me; I wore a pink long vest from NastyGal with some feathers on the shoulders that I added. Underneath my vest I wore a black body suit and tulle skirt to add some volume. I wore baby pink shoes from Steven Madden and a black bag from a thrift store. Tresemme put my hair in a beautiful updo, which I loved. Lesson learned – I should always bring flats in my bag, my feet couldn’t take it anymore!

NYFW Day 6: Coach x Selena Gomez! My best friend Ayhesa (who is a photographer in NYC) and I went to meet Selena Gomez and celebrate her new collection for Coach. This was my last day in NYC so I wore what was left in my luggage. I put on a green neon skirt, a basic white top and Zara blazer with flats. I did my hair with some waves and my make-up was natural looking with nude lips. After the Coach x SG event I just decided to walk around on 5th Avenue and do some window shopping before I headed home that night.

It was such an amazing first experience to be at the NYFW. I wish I could do it all over again but I’m okay letting my feet recover and attend again next year! Just ask away if you have any questions or just shoot me a message, I love hearing back from you! Hope you enjoyed reading my NYFW Recap!
