NYFW Recap Part I

I’m sorry it took me so long to write about NYFW. I returned home last week and I took a few days to recover from my trip. NYFW was fun, inspiring, but EXHAUSTING. I will cover NYFW day by day covering my outfits, shows I attended, and every little detail I can remember so you can imagine the experience of this amazing event.

NYFW Day 1: Just FYI before I packed, I prepared all my outfits for every show. The first day, I put on a red crop top bell sleeve from Forever21, black oversized pants with fun metallic accesories such as: silver belt and a copper bag. I carried a black and white blazer from Mango with me in case I get a cold at night. Hair down with natural waves. My old but favorite BCBG shoes in black made this look more elegant and appropriate for the occasion. That day I had three shows in my calendar but due the timing, I was able to make it to only two: The Galtiscopio to see their SS18 collection and the Style Collective party to meet other bloggers and sip some Rose!

Do you want to know the thing that surprised me the most once I got to my very first show for NYFW? The outfits of all the girls standing in line were amazing. I have to say that street style in NYC was so inspiring, way more so than seeing them in magazines or websites. Another big surprise for me was the amount of street photographers. NYC was full of photographers everywhere. So if you decide to attend NYFW or are in NYC during that time make sure you are wearing your best look. Lesson learned – Arrive 40min to 1 hour prior to the show; the lines are long even with invitation or assigned seat.

NYFW Day 2: The weather was perfect in NYC so I didn’t even need a jacket to carry around.  I wore a short dress in burgundy color with a Chinese pattern, embroidery styling and a collar. I felt on the darker side so I used darker lips. I didn’t need accessories with this outfit, just a good a pair of shoes. I wore deep blue suede heeled shoes from Jessica Simpson. I then attended the Banana Republic x Olivia Palermo Launch Collection! The event started with the models walking around the store with the new collection and ended with them stepping outside for everyone to view and photograph the collection. I absolutely loved the BR x OP collection! Most of the pieces are perfect for the fall. The style is classic with a touch: military jackets, trench and long coats, dresses, blouses and scarves. Lesson learned – Bring my portable charger because my phone will not last all the day with all the pictures and IG stories I like to do.

NYFW Day 3: I woke up early; there was no time for breakfast just a quick toast and coffee to-go. I got ready for the four shows of the day – Francesca Liberatore, Dan Liu, Leanne Marshall and Lisa N. Hoang. I only made it to three by the way (because it was impossible to go to all the shows I got invited to) but I did my best! Dan Liu, Leanne Marshall and Lisa N. Hoang were amazing shows. I can’t even describe them in words, so I will attach some photos. My favorite piece was a Lisa N. Hoang black lace dress in the photo below. That day I was feeling pink, so I picked my silver pleats skirt from H&M (an old item from my closet), a polka dot pink top from H&M (recently got it at the sale) and a faux fur vest from a thrift store (I have seen similar ones at Forever21 and Anthropologie). My sunglasses were featured here with the “Best Sunglasses on the Street of NYFW” . The sunglasses are from Forever21 for only 8$. I got so many compliments on this look from street photographers to fashionistas and bloggers. My shoes are my old lace-up in pink also from Forever21.  Hair, I decided to go for something simple – up in a ponytail. This was definitely the busiest Sunday I’ve had in a while but I loved it! Lesson learned – Pack a snack.
