My nightly skincare routine

I don’t know if I have ever mentioned this before but I’m a skincare addict. Taking care of my skin is a priority because I have a very sensitive combination skin type (aka a normal skin type with oily T-Zone) with rosacea and proneness to acne. But since I committed to giving my skin the love and care it needs I have been able to control some my issues. Something that I also keep in mind is that we don’t look young forever, in our mid 20’s the skin starts decreasing the production of collagen and small signs of aging start showing. So the earlier we start taking care of our skin the better we’ll look as we get older.  So no matter how tired I feel or how late it is I NEVER skip my nightly skincare routine, consistency is key for glowing, fresh and youthful looking skin.

Today, I wanted to share my 5-step skincare night routine:

1- MAKEUP REMOVAL: I have been using the DHC Deep Cleansing Oil for years now and I love it. It removes ALL my makeup (even waterproof mascara) with zero residue. The key ingredient is Organic Oil Olive that cleans and moistures at the same without clogging my pores. It’s amazing!

2- CLEANSER: The Mild Soap from DHC is one of my favorites, it’s great for combination skin type. One of the main ingredients of this soap is Honey which nourishes my skin and doesn’t dry it out.

3- SERUM: I’ve always been afraid of adding a serum or toner to my skin regimen because of my combination skin type but I was so wrong. Since I added a good serum to my routine my skin produces way less oil in my T-zone. My two favorite are: Clarins Mission Perfection Serum and The DHC Super Collagen Supreme. The DHC one is a weightless serum with a high concentration of collagen. I have been applying this serum every morning and night for the last six months and I can definitely see a difference in my skin.

4- MOISTURIZER: This step is most important one.  I have always moisturized my skin since I was 25 and I have never skipped this part of my regimen. Usually I go to lightweight moisturizers, some of my favorites are: Clinique Dramatically Different Moisturizing Gel, Drunk Elephant Protini Polypeptide Moisturizer, First Aid Beauty Ultra Repair Face Moisturizer and Lancome Hydra Zen Anti-Stress Gel Moisturizer. My current obsession is the DHC Super Collagen Cream. It hydrates my skin without a greasy finish. It helps fading my acne marks and gives my skin a beautiful glow with the collagen-boosting. I totally recommend it!

5- EYE CREAM: The eye area is the most sensitive area of our face and its also the first area to show aging. Some of my favorite eye creams are: the 100 Percent Pure Coffee Bean Caffeine Eye Cream (smells delicious), Estee Lauder Advanced Night Repair Eye Cream, Neutrogena Rapid Wrinkle Repair Eye Cream, Olay Eye Creams (seriously most of them are AMAZING!) and the DHC Concentrated Eye Cream. Remember to be careful while applying eye cream just use some drops around the area and then just gently tap with your fingers until the skin absorbs the cream. Avoid rubbing too much.

Every night before bed I take about 30 min to do these 5 steps and the difference I see in my skin every morning is seriously priceless. My advice is to start a good skin regimen today and stick to it. Remember, your skin is the largest organ in your body – take care of it!
